Reza Sadeghian, MD is a visionary and strategic technology leader with repeated success leading enterprise clinical informatics and health information technology operations. The first pediatrician in North America with dual fellowship training in biomedical and clinical informatics.
A healthcare executive with a history of leadership in healthcare technology, Reza Sadeghian, MD has more than 15 years of experience in telemedicine systems, patient-care enhancement, and electronic medical record optimization. Over the course of his career, Dr. Reza Sadeghian has led numerous HIT and enterprise clinical informatics operations, launching technology programs that advance business strategy, drive innovation, and engage providers, staff, and physician executives.
He is the first pediatrician with double fellowship training in biomedical and clinical informatics in North America. He also holds a Physician Executive MBA. Dr. Reza Sadeghian contributes to the professional community through seminars and lectures on health IT and related subjects, and supports the application of Lean manufacturing principles and FMEA in healthcare.
Since 2019, Dr. Sadeghian has held multiple roles beginning at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Colton, California, where the hospital CEO and board appointed him as CMIO. He currently serves as Enterprise Chief Medical Information Officer and Medical Director of AI at University of Toledo Health.
Dr. Reza Sadeghian was a key contributor to UPMC’s RAVEN initiative, which featured the pioneering use of telemedicine as an integral part of nursing home residents’ care. The telemedicine technology was created by Dr. Sadeghian in partnership with UPMC’s Technology Development Center, Center for Connected Medicine’s Information Services Division, Department of Biomedical Informatics, and Community Provider Services.
At Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Dr. Sadeghian guided the implementation of telemedicine for more than 34 outpatient services and 54 skilled nursing facilities across San Bernardino County, including County Detention Centers. He secured over $1 million in telemedicine funding through two CARES Act grants.
His responsibilities span financial management, budgeting, strategic planning, and organizational resource oversight. Among his accomplishments is supporting health IT and re-engineering projects through the development of action-oriented, multidisciplinary teams.
